How to Duplicate a Link

The Duplicate feature lets you quickly create a new link based on an existing one. All of the original link's settings are copied over, saving you time when you need to create similar links with minor variations.

What Gets Copied

When you duplicate a link, almost everything is carried over to the new link:

  • Destination URL — the URL the link redirects to
  • UTM parameters — source, medium, campaign, term, and content
  • Tracking pixels — Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel
  • Link behaviour — cloaking, bot blocking, referrer hiding, parameter forwarding
  • Custom social previews — OG title, description, and image
  • Rules — link rotation rules, geo-targeting rules, and device targeting
  • Expiry settings — expiry date, click limit, and expiry destination
  • QR code styling — colours, logo, and design
  • Password protection
  • Webhooks and notifications
  • HTML injection — custom head and body tags

What Gets Reset

A few things are set fresh on the new link:

  • Link slug — a new random slug is generated to avoid conflicts
  • Click statistics — the new link starts with zero clicks
  • Created date — the new link gets a new timestamp

You can edit any of the copied settings before saving the new link.

1

Log in to Linkly and navigate to your Links page.

2

Move your mouse over the link row to reveal the action toolbar.

3

In the toolbar that appears, click the Duplicate button (marked with a + icon).

4

The new link form opens with all the settings pre-filled from the original link. A new random slug is generated automatically. Make any changes you need.

5

Click Create Link to save your duplicated link.
