Add LinkedIn Insight Tag to a Link

What is the LinkedIn Insight Tag?

The LinkedIn Insight Tag is LinkedIn's tracking code for measuring the effectiveness of your LinkedIn ad campaigns and building retargeting audiences.

When you add the LinkedIn Insight Tag to your links, you can:

  • Build matched audiences of professionals who clicked your links
  • Track conversions from LinkedIn ads
  • See demographic data about your link clickers (company, industry, job title)
  • Retarget on LinkedIn with ads shown to people who've engaged with your content

LinkedIn is the leading platform for B2B marketing. By adding the Insight Tag to links you share on LinkedIn, you can:

  • Track which LinkedIn posts drive the most valuable traffic
  • Build retargeting audiences from people who clicked links in your posts or articles
  • Measure the effectiveness of LinkedIn ad campaigns
  • Understand the professional demographics of people clicking your links

This is particularly useful for:

  • B2B marketers and sales teams
  • Recruiters sharing job listings
  • Thought leaders and content creators
  • Anyone running LinkedIn ad campaigns

Once your Insight Tag is collecting data, you can create matched audiences in LinkedIn Campaign Manager:

  1. Go to Plan → Audiences
  2. Click Create audience → Website
  3. Define your audience based on the URLs they visited (your Linkly links)
  4. Use this audience for retargeting campaigns
