How to Delete Workspace Data
This guide explains how to permanently delete all data from your workspace.
Critical Warning
This is the most destructive action in the application. This action:
- Cannot be undone
- Deletes ALL workspace data
- Logs you out immediately
- Requires all subscriptions to be cancelled first
What Gets Deleted
When you delete workspace data:
- All links - Every short link will stop working permanently
- All domains - Custom domains will be removed
- All workspace users - Team members will lose access to the workspace
- You will be logged out - You'll need to log back in and create a new workspace
Prerequisites
Before you can delete workspace data, you must:
1. Cancel Your Workspace Subscription (if applicable)
If you have an active paid subscription:
- Go to Billing in your workspace
- Click "Cancel Subscription" or "Downgrade to Free" (see how to cancel a paid account)
- Wait for the cancellation to process
- Then return to delete workspace data
2. Cancel All Domain Subscriptions (if applicable)
If you have purchased domains with active subscriptions:
- Go to Domains in your workspace
- For each domain with an active subscription, click on the domain and cancel the subscription
- Wait for all domain subscriptions to be cancelled
- Then return to delete workspace data
Important: The delete workspace data button will be disabled if you have any active subscriptions.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Navigate to Workspace Settings
Click on your workspace name in the top-left corner. From the dropdown menu, select "Workspace Settings". Scroll down to the "Danger Zone" section.
Navigate to Workspace SettingsStart the Deletion Process
Click the "Delete Workspace Data" button. You'll be taken to a confirmation page.
Start the Deletion ProcessReview the Confirmation Page
If you have active subscriptions: A warning banner will indicate which subscriptions are active, with links to cancel them. The delete button will be disabled and show "(Subscriptions Active)".
If all subscriptions are cancelled: You'll see a warning that the action cannot be undone, the number of links that will be deleted, a list of everything that will be deleted, and a reminder that you'll be logged out.
Confirm Deletion (only if no active subscriptions)
Review all the information carefully. Click the red "Delete Workspace Data" button. A browser confirmation dialog will appear: "This will permanently delete ALL data in this workspace: All [X] links, All domains, All workspace users, You will be logged out. Are you absolutely sure?" Click "OK" to proceed or "Cancel" to abort.
Completion
All workspace data is immediately deleted. You are automatically logged out and redirected to the login page. A message confirms successful deletion.
Alternative: Cancel the Operation
At any point before clicking "OK" in the final confirmation dialog, you can:
- Click "Cancel" on the confirmation page to return to Settings
- Click "Cancel" in the browser dialog to abort the deletion
After Deletion
- You are logged out - You'll need to log in again
- All short links stop working - Anyone clicking them will see an error
- Team members lose access - All users are removed from the workspace
- Domains are removed - Custom domains will no longer work
- You can create a new workspace - Log back in and start fresh if needed
Alternatives to Consider
Before deleting all workspace data, consider these alternatives:
Delete Only Links
If you want to keep your workspace, domains, and team but remove all links:
- Use Delete All Links instead (in the same Danger Zone section)
- This is less destructive and doesn't log you out
Cancel Subscription and Keep Data
If you want to stop paying but keep your data:
- Just cancel your subscription
- Your workspace, links, and domains remain active on the free plan
- You don't lose any data
Remove Specific Team Members
If you need to remove certain users:
- Go to Workspace Settings > Team
- Remove individual users instead of deleting the entire workspace
