Frequently asked questions about link rotators

How does the link rotator decide where to send visitors?

Each time someone clicks your link, Linkly randomly selects a destination based on the percentages you set. It's like spinning a roulette wheel for each click — completely random and independent of previous clicks.

What happens if someone clicks the link twice?

They may go to a different destination. Each click is independent, so a visitor could see Destination A on their first click and Destination B on their second. Linkly does not currently offer sticky rotators that remember individual visitors.

Do my percentages need to add up to 100%?

No. If your percentages add up to less than 100%, the remaining traffic goes to your main destination URL. For example, if you set 30% to Destination A and 30% to Destination B, the remaining 40% goes to your primary URL.

How many destinations can I add?

You can add up to 100 destinations per rotator, with a minimum of 1% per destination. Need more? Stack rotators by setting one rotator as a destination of another — one level of stacking supports up to 10,000 destinations.

How accurate is the traffic distribution?

The distribution is probabilistic. With small numbers of clicks, you may see uneven splits (just like flipping a coin 10 times might not give exactly 5 heads). With 200+ clicks, the distribution will closely match your configured percentages.
