Linkly & Calendly
Click counts tell you a booking link was popular. They don't tell you whether anyone booked.
Connect Calendly and Linkly records each new booking as a conversion against the short link that was clicked. You can then compare links by meetings booked, not only by clicks: which email, which ad, which social post, which sales rep's link actually fills the calendar.
What you need
- A Linkly account. The free plan works.
- A Calendly account on a paid plan (Standard or above). Calendly only sends booking notifications on its paid plans.
Connect Calendly
- 1In Linkly, open Integrations and choose Calendly.
- 2Click Connect Calendly and approve access on Calendly's screen.
- 3You are returned to Linkly with the account shown as connected.
If you are an owner or admin of your Calendly organization, Linkly listens for bookings across the whole organization, so round robin and team events are covered. Otherwise it listens for your own bookings only.
Turn on conversion tracking for your booking links
- 1Create a Linkly link that points at your Calendly page, for example
https://calendly.com/your-name/30min, or edit one you already have. - 2In the link's Tracking & analytics options, switch on Conversion tracking.
That is the whole setup. Share the short link as usual.
How it works
When someone clicks a tracked link, Linkly adds a short random identifier for that click to the Calendly address as it redirects. Calendly passes it back to Linkly when the booking is made, and Linkly matches the booking to the click.
Calendly only passes UTM parameters through to a booking, so the identifier travels in utm_term. If your link already sets its own utm_term, Linkly leaves it alone and that link's bookings can't be matched. Leave utm_term empty on links where you want bookings tracked. Your other UTM parameters are untouched.
A few things worth knowing:
- Only tracked links count. Bookings that didn't come through a Linkly link with conversion tracking on are ignored. Linkly never sees the rest of your calendar.
- A reschedule is not a second booking. When an invitee moves a meeting, the original conversion stands and no new one is added.
- Paid bookings carry their value. If you collect payment through Calendly, the amount is recorded with the conversion.
- The identifier names a click, not a person. It is random and carries no personal information.
Disconnect
Open Integrations, choose Calendly, and click Disconnect. Linkly removes its booking subscription from Calendly and deletes its access. Conversions already recorded stay in your reports.
Troubleshooting
"Booking notifications need a paid Calendly plan." Calendly refused the subscription, which is what happens on its free plan. Upgrade in Calendly, then connect again.
Bookings aren't appearing. Check that conversion tracking is on for the link, then click the short link yourself and confirm the Calendly address contains utm_term= followed by a code with a dot in it. If utm_term shows your own value instead, clear it on the link.
Embedded Calendly on your own site. If the short link goes to a page on your site that embeds Calendly, rather than to calendly.com directly, use conversion tracking with linkly.js on that page instead.
