Canva QR Code Generator: How to Make a QR Code in Canva and Track the Scans
Canva has a QR code generator built in, and its QR codes are dynamic: you can change the link after printing. What Canva's free and Pro plans don't show is how many people scanned. Here's how to make a QR code in Canva and track the scans anyway, by putting a short link inside it.

- 0:00What Canva's QR codes do now
- Canva has a QR code generator built in, and it's better than it used to be. The QR codes are dynamic now, so you can change the link after you've printed. What you don't get on Canva's free plan, or on Pro, is the scan numbers. Here's how to get those anyway.
- 0:16Make a QR code in Canva
- Here's my flyer. Open Apps, search for QR code, and pick Canva's own one. Dynamic QR codes. Choose a pattern, and it asks for a URL. I could paste my website straight in, and it'd work. I just wouldn't know if anybody scanned it.
- 0:29Put a short link inside it
- So I'll paste a short link instead. Over in Linkly, the page address goes in, I give it a short ending, and save. That's the link that goes inside the QR code. Back in Canva. Paste the short link, save, and there's the QR code. Size it down and drag it into the gap. Not too small, though. Tiny QR codes don't scan from across a room. See that Insights button with the crown? That's the part you'd be paying for.
- 0:55Track the scans
- Here's the free version of it. Every scan shows up as a click on the link. Which day, and which country. And because it's a link, not only a QR code, the same one works everywhere else. Typed out under the QR code for anyone who'd rather not scan. In the email. In your bio. One set of numbers for all of it.
- 1:14Change the link later
- You can still change where it points, in Canva or on the link itself. Same QR code, same flyer, new page. If you're already on Canva's Business plan, the scan insights are built in and you don't need any of this. If you're not, a short link inside the QR code gets you the numbers. It's free to start, and everything you need is just below this video.
