Frequently asked questions about custom URL shorteners
Links continue to redirect as long as your DNS points to Linkly. If you cancel and remove the DNS record, existing links stop working — the same as any hosted shortener. We recommend exporting your link data before cancelling; you keep full ownership of your domain.
Not necessarily. You can use a subdomain of any domain you already own (e.g. link.yourbrand.com). For a shorter URL, many companies register a short ccTLD specifically for branding — Linkly works with both.
